Yoruba is a Niger-Congo language spoken by nearly 20 million people throughout West Afria including Nigeria, Benin and Togo and in communities throughout Europe and the Americas. Literary Yoruba, also known as Standard Yoruba, Yoruba koiné, and common Yoruba, is the written form of the language learned at school and spoken by radio broadcasters.
